"Can't Take My Eyes Off You"

Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons were a top group of the 1960's and still do reunion concerts for their loyal fans. They had tons of hits during the decade

One of their most popular hits was "Can't Take My Eyes Off You".
It's just one of the best love songs ever.

"Ain't No Mountain High Enough"

Diana Ross was one of my favorite female vocalists of the 60's. She is still a popular performer. This video shows her huge concert in New York's Central Park. She also performs live shows in Las Vegas, forty years since her career began. This video is of one my favorite Diana Ross hits, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Many performers have done their versions of this song, but no one does it like Diana Ross.

Summer Oldies Concerts

I love summer concerts, inside or outdoors. I've only been to a few, and it was years ago. I saw Elvis in live in concert in Detroit, also Herman's Hermits and a folk group called The Kingsmen.

Now you can find 60's reunion group concerts happening across the country on the internet. Some are outside venues, in amphitheaters, in stadiums, in parks, many at State Fairs.

There is a great FREE series of concerts happening in Boston this summer, that includes the popular 60's group, The Beach Boys. If you are near the Boston area,
check out this link:
Oldies 103.3 proudly presents The 2009 Free Summer Concert Series Line-Up!

Another good source for concert info is:
Park Concerts 2009

This site lists many concert events of 60's artists:
Last.fm

Hope you get out to an oldies concert this summer!

If you know of any happening in your area, let me know, and I'll post 'em up.

Welcome to the Sixties!

Welcome to this new blog about the music of the Sixties. Many think the Sixties was a time of war, political turmoil and revolution. To me, the Sixties was a time of fun, freedom, love, joy and adolesence. I wasn't a flower child, or a hippie or a protestor, I was just a teenager full of anticipation and hope. It was probably the most exciting decade of my life, and a big part of that time was the music.

The music of the Sixties is the best EVER, and many of us remember it with love and nostalgia, while others are just now discovering it.

This blog will highlight, mostly through YouTube videos, the top hits of the Sixties and also advertise any Sixties Revival concert events.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks for visiting "A Delicious Decade of Music"!
